Follow these time-tested techniques to protect your pegboards from heat warping and get perfectly even melts.
The Tape Method
Cover your completed bead piece with regular masking tape. Press firmly with a roller or scraper, then poke holes in each bead with a spare pegboard to prevent heat blowouts!
Remove from Board
Peel the taped design off your plastic pegboard. Never iron directly on pegboards for large projects—this prevents your pegboards from warping and ruining future crafts!
Gentle Ironing
Place parchment paper over the beads. Set your household iron to Medium heat (Wool setting) with NO STEAM. Move in small circular motions for 15–30 seconds.
Weight & Cool
Immediately place heavy books or a cutting board over the warm piece for at least 10–15 minutes until completely cool. This guarantees an ultra-flat, professional finish.
